PokerStars WCOOP Begins Today with Four Events

The first day of the PokerStars 2020 World Championship of Online Poker is here. It has been two weeks since PokerStars announced its annual WCOOP, and it’s ready to go.

Action will kick off today, Sunday, August 30. There are four events with three buy-in levels of each, creating a day of 12 tournaments with WCOOP titles awaiting their winners. The series will run through September 23 with a total of 225 individual WCOOP tournaments and more than $81 million in prize pool guarantees.

The 75-event series is the 19th iteration of WCOOP, a staple in the poker industry and the series that set the bar for all others to follow it through the years. And it kicks off today.

2020 WCOOP Details

When PokerStars announced the series, players may have waited to finalize their schedules, but it starts today. It’s time.

The complete schedule is here, which will be updated with results as the series progresses. Since PokerStars has always been good about providing daily updates on its events, this will be the place to go for information.

Bargain WCOOP Prices

Satellites are always a great way to obtain entries into WCOOP events at a fraction of the price. This year, PokerStars is offering more ways to find satellites than in the past.

There are MTT and SNG satellites at a fraction of the event buy-ins. For example, players can earn a seat into a $109 buy-in event via a $5.50 satellite and into a $22 buy-in event for as little as $1.10.

Within that range of satellites, there are special WCOOP Spin & Gos at the $4 and $22 price range with prizes as high as a $5,200 Main Event seat.

Fast Track satellites also offer a chance to start at just $1. Winners move to $11 rounds, then up to $109, and then $1,050 rounds. The final Round 4 action guarantees five seats in each to the $5,200 Main Event.

There are $81,637,000 in guaranteed prize pools awaiting. The 2020 WCOOP is on.
