NFL Week 4:Broncos @ Jets Prediction Odds & Preview
The Denver Broncos will open as favorites for the first time this season when they travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey, to face the New York Jets in Thursday Night Football.
Both teams are still chasing their first win of the 2020 campaign and will be desperate to clinch it in Week 4. Denver sit at the bottom of the AFC West and have wilting prospects already this season, but the winless Jets are also in a state of disarray at the base of the AFC East.
There isn’t much to pick between the two ahead of their clash at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Sugarhouse has the Broncos edging ahead as -110 favorites, but their hosts are only just off the pace at -104.
Denver are unfortunate to be carrying injuries in numerous key positions ahead of the trip to New Jersey, but the Jets are leaking on average 30 points per game so far this season.
That sour start has led to Jets coach Adam Gase being shorted as the first NFL coach to be sacked this year, per OddsShark:

Broncos vs. Jets Preview & Prediction
In a similar setup to the San Francisco 49ers’ visit to the New York Giants in Week 3—a game the 49ers dominated 36-9 despite a slew of injuries—the Broncos will attempt to make do without first-choice quarterback Drew Lock and wide receiver Courtland Sutton.
If the aforementioned game taught us anything, it’s that the superior program—even if weakened—trumps a poor one playing at full strength. Gase’s place as Jets head coach is said to be on the line unless his side win Thursday, but that pressure has been brought on him for a reason.
Sugarhouse and other betting apps offer +100 odds that there will be Under 38.5 points scored at MetLife, a distinct possibility considering the Broncos QB situation looks uncertain and connecting quality passes could be rare. With that in mind, the +330 odds on a Denver field goal to be the first scoring play also look appealing with shot-caller Drew Lock out of the running due to a shoulder injury.
The Jets won 34-16 when they last faced Denver in October 2018, ending a run of three consecutive defeats against this opponent. However, the New York franchise hasn’t sealed successive wins over Denver since 1966, suggesting a return to the loss column is likely.
The Broncos also have fond memories of facing the Jets during Thursday Night Football; Tim Tebow was part of their setup during a dramatic 17-13 win in November 2011:

One Sugarhouse parlay has the Broncos at +270 to win and Under 39.5 points scored on Thursday. Jets QB Sam Darnold is under increasing pressure after a lacklustre opening three weeks to the season, and there’s not a lot of faith in Broncos backups Jeff Driskel or Brett Rypien.
